While those two versions can still be argued to represent the same character, it's the third version that causes a problem because of how this wiki classifies "characters": While essentially simply a European market release of the Series 2 version in standard multilingual packaging, this version uses the template for European Series 2 Transformers: Prime Cyberverse Legion Class figures and keeps the Prime moniker, thereby (arguable) creating an Aligned version of Evac. This version was available at general retail in the United States. Another version was available in Cyberverse "Series 2" packaging, using the template for the Transformers: Prime-based Series 2 packaging style but lacking the "Prime" moniker. This version is co-branded Universal Studios and Cyberverse. The toy was available in three different packaging variants, all containing unchanged toys: One version was available in Transformers: Universal Studios packaging, sold exclusively at (where else?) Universal Studios theme park stores. Legion Class Evac is an unchanged release of Transformers: The Ride Legion Class Evac. In my opinion, it's worth owning again if you were a fan of the original.Evac is an Autobot whose primary function is "Commando". While some people might not prefer the color scheme given to this figure, it is an excellent mold. Evac can also use his rotors as a weapon in the same fashion that Blackout did.Įvac retails at the same price as Blackout. Articulation for Evac is identical to Blackout's, which is to say, very good. It is a more familiar TF sculpt than the alien like appearance of Blackout. They are obviously pegged so that he can hold his weapon. His hands are more 'human' like than just 3 digits like Blackout have. The two big differences with Evac with the hands and the head.
#TRANSFORMERS EVAC MOVIE#
The life raft converts into a hand gun, which is a rarity for the movie figures to have hand guns. Also, the Allspark blue is visible in the limbs and chest. The orange and white motif remain, with a little more white showing up. It is in robot mode where you can see the subtle yet very visible differences in this mold. However, I couldn't see any changes or improvements to the original design. Perhaps it's a fluke, but it seemed like Evac's Automorph feature (identical to Blackout's) works with more ease. Transformation is identical to Blackout's. Indeed, it does seem to resemble an octagon shaped flotation device. The new gimmick for this mold is supposedly a life raft. Instead, there is another gimmick in it's place. This time around, there isn't a metallic scorpion calling that cage home. Evac also retains the 'cage' located on the rear of the belly. The lever in the back still activates the main rotor. I have no idea of that number references the original anticipated release of the figure (Oct 15 2007?) or not.Īll the features of Blackout work as well. The only other notable difference is the addition of EV1015-07 on the tail. There is also a flanked Autobot insignia above the cockpit. All the details are the same as in Blackout, although the rotor blades are a bit more gray. This is fairly consistent with rescue helicopters, although not quite the palate of a US Coast Guard rescue helicopter.

The color scheme this time around is mostly orange with some white, black and gray motifs. Alt ModeĮvac is a retooling of the Blackout mold. Other than that, the box art is consistent with previous releases. The bottom of the box front can be same with the same light blue coloring.

There is now a blue swatch on the left side of the box proclaiming the new series name. Box Artįor the "Allspark Power" lineup, the box art changes just a little. He is called to Earth after the events of the movie to help with cleanup and recovery. Evac comes to us as part of the "Allspark Power" segment of the movie line. In the case of this review, there is also one mold that has been slightly retooled. Although most of these figures are blatant repaints of previously released figures, there are a few original molds. So far, the new year only promises to bring us more figures inspired from the blockbuster movie from last summer.
